Vote NO With A Governor's Veto on House Bill 5512 - Drug Treatment Courts and Medical Marijuana

        Legislation built on perceived "facts" shall never be allowed to adopted into law. House Bill 5512 is brought to you by sponsors of corporate greed with a pinch of Judicial Overreach. Due to testing positive for Covid, Rep Cynthia A. Johnson was not allowed to vote on House Bill 5512 regarding Michigan Drug Treatment Courts and the Michigan Medical Marijuana Law. Her absence from Lansing equaled a NO vote because of the overreach that Judges would have over Medical professionals. Judges go to law school versus medical school. With no oversight, this would allow a Judge to prescribe Opioids to a defendant instead of Marijuana. As a statement of fact, Marijuana has enormous evidence in support that it is a better and safer option than Opioids. 

When a few angry Judges and and Prosecutors got together because of an appeals court decision in The People vs Michael Thue case, they petitioned a few legislators to make this happen.

Detroit Free Press Article Link The People vs Thue - On February 11, 2021, the Michigan Court of Appeals decided People v Thue, which allowed individuals to use medicinal marihuana while on probation so long as that behavior is in conformity with the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act (MMMA).

House Bill 5512 was developed from the policies of the late Harry Anslinger, 20th century racism, and a few other special interest groups since1939. The sponsors of this bill promoted rumors of federal funding losses to local drug courts because of state laws. A YES vote from your Michigan State Senator would support the example of how far the federal government is disconnected from the citizens of the state. Additionally HB 5512 is in direct conflict with the Ninth Amendment of the United States Constitution regarding states rights.

One of the reasons it was passed by a 3/4 majority of the 110 member House of Representatives is because of the failed war on weed by federal legislators in Washington DC. Combined with inaction of the executive branch of federal government regarding expungements, House Bill 5512 passed by 87 votes to go to the 38 Members of the Michigan State Senate for their vote. 

The representatives who voted NO on this bill should be commended for standing up with their employers, the citizens of the State of Michigan. Now it is time to contact all the members of the Michigan State Senate regarding your concerns about House Bill 5512.  If no one speaks in opposition, this bill will go to the Governor's office to sign into law with immediate effect. 

Your Michigan State Senator has a chance to vote on this bill becoming the law of the land. If you want to stop this bill from becoming law, contacting the Office of Governor Gretchen Whitmer telling her to veto this bill and, stand up for states rights will assist in stopping this dangerous legislation. Michigan has a lot of issues that need to taken care of with immediate effect, and this is not one of them.

Please remember all of the members in the US House of Representatives, Michigan Executive Office, Michigan State House, and Senate, are up for their annual employee evaluations starting June 19th, 2022 until November 2nd, 2022. 

At that time, you will have your say about their employment status with your vote at the ballot box.

"My name is Paula Campbell, Republican candidate for HD1 I'm officially running for Michigan House of Representative for the 1st district on the Republican ticket.

Because I do not have to compete in the primaries because I am the only Republican on the ticket,  I'm asking all my 1st District fellow residents to not vote for me in the primaries.

I have always said that there is good and bad people in the Democrat and Republican Party,. Now is the time to promote people who have our district and community in their  best interest,  and remove the people who promote Division, hate and violence. 

I am from River Rouge Michigan, and I absolutely love my city. I am blessed to live in a city where a whole lot of good people do great things. I am blessed with a community that if my child was walking down the street doing something he's not supposed to do, I am more than confident that I would have a call within seconds. What is happening in Ukraine right now is what Donald Trump and Rudi Giuliani wanted to do on January 6th, 2021 in Washington DC. Working together on 2022 Mid-Term Elections

The supporters of Putin and Trump have a perfect bond when it comes to policy. It is a brutal lesson in Civics for people who have never witnessed a real-time invasion by a superpower in their lifetimes. When the United States gives military and tactical support to the Ukrainian people, we can send freedom fighters like Kyle Rittenhouse and his friends there to get the job done.  Now the children get to see a new version of Adolph Hitler in Vladimir Putin with his European version of  teaching "Critical Race Theory".

And, the only difference in 2020 besides the Covid pandemic is, that Donald Trump did not have the help of Bill Schuette as Governor of Michigan.  With the help of former Detroit Police Chief James Craig, they would have bombed Detroit in a similar fashion.

We must strongly encourage Chairman Benny Thompson of the Select Committee on the January 6th, 2021 attack, to expose the treasonous behavior of people who financed, supported and, participated in the attempt to invalidate the votes of Detroit citizens on December 2nd, 2020.

Prosecution of the criminals may include swift and tactical prosecution of all the violators of freedom.  Where is the SUV caravan of federal agents driving to Mar-Largo to arrest former president Donald Trump for treason?

Is Community Reinvestment a Treatment Plan for Social Equity in the Marijuana Industry?

The marijuana industry has exploded in Michigan since 2008 into a multi-billion dollar industry. As the industry grows, the same issues remain regarding opportunity to participate thrive as a canna business owner.  The recent social equity plan for the City of Detroit that was rejected by a Federal District Court judge needs to be re-written to satisfy the plaintiffs and defendants in a court of law. The marijuana industry has exploded into a multi-billion dollar industry with the end result of little to no improvement in the quality of life in the neighborhoods. The defendants are people who are longtime Detroit residents with a vested interest in uplifting the quality of life in our community.

We know the routine regarding unequal enforcement of laws and denial of business opportunities to people of color. The intent of the original Detroit Marijuana ordinance was to address the dis-advantages of the past.  The primary goal of the proposed Social Equity ordinance was to give lifelong Detroit residents first preference for recreational Marijuana licenses within the City to improve the quality of life..  

Yes we have medical marijuana establishments in new House District 1 that operate under a different set of rules.  Since the original ordinance developed by the business owners was rejected, the remedy for restitution is to create a new ordinance that will direct a percentage of the revenue into neighborhoods. One example of a neighborhood infrastructure project is the development of public Recreation Centers that will serve as a hub of activity within a radius 2.5 miles from any home in the City of Detroit. Another example is the reuse of abandoned Public School buildings.

As of February 2022 there are 10 black owned marijuana businesses in City of Detroit. Along with the other business and the addition of recreational marijuana, revenue from this industry can be directed to projects that will improve the quality of life. To make the ordinance have some teeth, reinvestment details must be codified.  

A meeting between the stakeholders must occur to decide what recreation structures shall be repaired, or created for a neighborhood. If the Detroit City Council and the Mayor do not approve of the plan, then it must be put to a vote of the people in the form of a ballot initiative. Once the issue is decided, then the marijuana industry will have started on a plan to do business 

As a rule, people that plan to do business in a municipality must have a written action plan that will be acceptable to residents that are within 500 feet of the business location.

Rep Johnson supports restitution from the spot of the foul in the form of a financial reparation that includes community outreach policies to improve the quality of life in neighborhoods.
