"My name is Paula Campbell, Republican candidate for HD1 I'm officially running for Michigan House of Representative for the 1st district on the Republican ticket.

Because I do not have to compete in the primaries because I am the only Republican on the ticket, I'm asking all my 1st District fellow residents to not vote for me in the primaries.
Vote for Tyrone Carter instead. He is running in the primaries against Cynthia Johnson, which is the Democratic representative from Detroit who was stripped from her committee's last year because she went on a drunken Rampage twice on Facebook live calling for violence against Trump supporters.
I have done my own research and have had great conversations with Tyrone Carter. He is the only Democratic candidate for Michigan house representative 1st District that is willing to walk across the aisle and have open respectful dialogue with the Republican Party.
It is always okay not to agree with the other side of the aisle, but it is never okay to call for violence regardless, which side of the Isle is calling for violence.
As the Republican candidates for Michigan house representative 1st District, I am committed to fixing the bridge between the Republican and Democratic Party.
I have always said that there is good and bad people in the Democrat and Republican Party,. Now is the time to promote people who have our district and community in their best interest, and remove the people who promote Division, hate and violence.
I am from River Rouge Michigan, and I absolutely love my city. I am blessed to live in a city where a whole lot of good people do great things. I am blessed with a community that if my child was walking down the street doing something he's not supposed to do, I am more than confident that I would have a call within seconds. The phrase" it takes a village to raise a child" is more true today then when the phrase was coined.
River Rouge is what I consider a purple City, we have Democrats and we have Republicans, but above politics we have community that blends together to come together and do great things for the residents of this community.
I have personally surveyed my district, which is the 1st district ( River Rouge Delray Southwest Corktown and parts of Detroit) and the main observation and conclusion that I have walked away with is that more community outreach, through Community Development needs to be done in the some parts of my district desperately.
Just like I have a blended family, our district needs to pull together. At this point it should not matter if we our a Republican or Democrat.
This is Our District. Our kids are growing up in this community. It's time to put party aside and take the best of the best ideas, and use them regardless of party affiliation.
It is time to heal and Unite, not destroy and divide.
My inbox is always open, the way we heal and unite is by having open, honest, and respectful dialogue so that both sides of the party can be heard and some common ground can be found."
